All of us have been in those meetings where someone is presenting data about revenue, or pipeline size, or open headcount, and the meeting just goes off the rails. Disagreements arise over the data, the source of the data, even how a metric is calculated. Sometimes the goals have changed and not everyone knew about the change. The net of it, a highly unproductive meeting and a symptom of an organization that doesn’t understand their business operating system since they can not measure the basics.
Behind all this data is usually some dedicated FP&A team trying to assemble this data either on their own or by cat herding cross functional members.
The process is super inefficient, wasteful, and prevents the team from moving forward in a meaningful way. We are setting out to change this and enable companies to understand and efficiently operate their business operating system.
